Enrollment Lasts A Lifetime

Enrollment in the Navy Wounded Warrior (NWW) Program** is required in order to receive assistance from NSHF.

Enrollment in the NWW Program** is available to service members wounded in combat, as well as to those diagnosed with a serious illness or injured in shipboard, training and liberty accidents. NWW** coordinates the non-medical care of seriously wounded, ill and injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, and provides resources and support to their families. Through proactive leadership, the program provides individually-tailored assistance designed to optimize the success of the wounded warriors’ recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration activities.

NSHF Fills The Gap

Since 2009, Navy Safe Harbor Foundation has been the Navy Wounded Warrior (NWW) Program’s first call when a Navy or Coast Guard Sailor is in need.

This partnership allows NSHF the ability to help coordinate non-medical care demands that frequently arise; such as when a hospitalized Sailor‘s spouse can’t afford to travel to be bedside, or when unexpected financial needs make meeting the demands of daily life an impossible task. This partnership builds upon the support provided by NWW to include former/inactive services members.

This year, NSHF has filled 138 grants helping Sailors and 40 grants helping Caregivers—addressing a variety of financial, travel and lodging needs.

With your help, we will continue to raise awareness of the needs of wounded, ill and injured Sailors, Coast Guard members and their families. We will fill the gaps and provide services not available through government benefits. Thanks to your support, when hope seems dim, we are able to provide a bright light of aid—all in the Navy way they deserve.
